Hussain Sajwani: Billionaire Business Venturer in the UAE

Hussain Sajwani is the fourth wealthiest man in the United Arab Emirates. His net worth is deemed at 4 billion dollars. Mr. Sajwani’s success has come from a collective range of real-estate investments in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Hussain Sajwani was born to a middle class family in 1954. While his father owned a watch shop and mother sold textiles to other women in the city, Hussain kept interested in building a business venture of his own. Against his father’s hopes, Hussain attended a school of medicine in Baghdad in hopes of forming an educative career, but he dropped out of the school right before finishing. Instead, Mr. Hussain Sajwani built his entrepreneurial skills through the years until making the biggest business move of his life in 2002. DAMAC Properties, a commercial real estate company, was founded by Mr. Sajwani in 2002.

DAMAC Properties is centered in Dubai, and is responsible for some of the biggest commercial development projects in Dubai. Sajwani took advantage of the internationally growing economy in the UAE and Dubai and opened DAMAC to foreign investors. The company has also expanded to countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. The company’s wealth has accumulated vastly, earning a spot on the London Stock Exchange, the first Middle Eastern company to do that. DAMAC has a large presence in the central attraction spots of Dubai, and current DAMAC projects involve a golfing community inside Dubailand, an entertainment community under construction, Trump International Golf Club Dubai, an award winning golf-site partnered with Donald Trump before his entry into presidential office in 2016. DAMAC properties is known for luxury projects in Dubai but also the biggest catering provider in the Middle East. They maintain other business projects including as one of the top insurance brokers in Bahrain, also in the UAE. Mr. Hussain Sajwani is involved in a couple of charities including one organization donating clothing to over 50,000 children in the Middle East. Even with the past economic recession Mr. Hussain Sajwani’s projects are blooming. With Dubailand opening in the near future, his name will only grow in recognition.
