His company, Guilherme Paulus co-founded CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A. he founded in 1972 along with Carlos Vicente Cerchiari.
Two after Carlos Vicente Cerchiari and Guilherme Paulus founded CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A., Carlos sold his portion of the company to Mr. Paulus walking away from the company they founded after only two years. Despite being alone, Guilherme Paulus continued to push forward. Today CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A is the largest tourism company in Brazil and is among the top ten tourism companies in the world. With over 209 price points of sale, CVC Brasil has operations in France, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and offices and operations in 23 states in Brazil. Employing over 3200 people and 1000 suppliers, Mr. Paulus’s CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A is one of the largest job creators in the country
Carlyle Group, a private equity firm bought the majority of CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A in 2009, a deal worth over $400 million, and has plans of taking the company public in 2018. Mr. Guilherme Paulus began investing large portions of his fortune in hotel development and expansion and in 2005 he founded GJP Hotels and Resorts. GJP currently controls more than 15 hotels in and around Brazil and has its eye focused on expanding to build more hotels in close proximity to the airports. In 2013 Guilherme became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CVC Brasil. Also a member of the Tourism National Board, named by the Republic’s President, Guilherme was named Entrepreneur of the year in 2017
